Darktable has a pretty strong community, one of their members build me the 2.7 beta version for windows. One of the developers called Aurelien has a patreon that people can donate money on for him. They programmers work on darktable in their free time. Thank you for your questions! Darktable is being pushed lately due to Adobe raising their prices. You probably can't answer and if you don't want to that is fine. I'm just wondering where the revenue is coming from for all of this? I have noticed a significant push for DT on many sites more than likely a response to Adobe doing stupid things.

Be careful, as haloing around the edges is easy to introduce.Since I'm new to the forum, let me introduce myself first. High Pass filter Boosting edge contrast by adding an edge detect layer in Overlay blend mode. For the best sharpening, boost contrast at the highest frequencies visible in your output resolution. EqualiserĮnhances local contrast at freely selectable frequency ranges. This can help to avoid the sharpening of noise. It also has a third slider, Threshold, which sets a threshold for how big the difference between two pixels should be for sharpening to begin. It resembles the good old Unsharp Mask, with the two sliders Radius and Amount.

And if this sharpening is done in the full size file, it will look more like overdone local contrast than sharpening. Small file sizes require sharpening on a larger scale. If you zoom in to 100% and sharpen the very finest details, this sharpening will never be visible in the Instagram file. Say you export a small file for Instagram, a medium sized file for a web site and a full size file for printing.
